Although this photo includes our club heads, it does not include our numerous adult supervisors, faculty advisors, and club members.
My name is Axel Fine, and I am the founder as well as a co-head of The Hopkins Hedge. I am currently a rising senior at Hopkins School in New Haven CT. At Hopkins, I captain the varsity basketball team, run the Hopkins Model UN club, and am involved with various other clubs such as the chess club and debate team. Academically, my interests have been spread into many high-level subjects such as APUSH and AP Physics. Yet, I have always prioritized my interest in math, focusing on AP CALC BC and preparing myself to double up on math senior year. However, at Hopkins, I was never able to further my interests in finance, specifically, investing, so I decided to found The Hopkins Hedge. I founded The Hedge to create opportunities for both myself and fellow students to learn more about the investment world. Through our countless experiences and immeasurable effort, I believe I as well as my co-heads will create a special environment and successful club this upcoming year.
As I lead The Hedge, I hope to foster experience in both myself and others, preparing and teaching individuals for potential futures.
I am Vittorio Montresoro, a rising senior at Hopkins School in New Haven and one of the club heads for the Hopkins Hedge. I have focused my academic coursework around STEM classes, including AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC. I also have high-level coursework in other subjects, including AP Chinese and AP US History. At Hopkins, I am the captain of the Varsity squash team and club head for Science Bowl and the Magic: the Gathering club. Outside of school, I play professional Magic: the Gathering and have reached #1 world ranking on Magic Arena. Thinking about the game theory behind Magic has sparked my interest in finance.
This summer I interned at a developmental neuroscience lab at the New York Psychiatric Institute to delve into my interests in neuroscience. I worked at a systematic macro hedge fund to gain practical experience in finance.
I co-lead the Hopkins Hedge to create my own investment strategies, implement them, and hopefully give back to the Hopkins community that has helped me immeasurably.
My name is Kiersten Brennan, and I am one of the co-heads of the Hopkins Hedge Club. As a rising senior this fall, I am very excited to be a part of this incredible opportunity for the Hopkins student body. Academically, my primary focus over the past through years has involved math and computer science, both of which are prominent in the field of investing. Particularly with the rise of artificial intelligence in the world of economics, my interest in computer science has motivated my curiosity surrounding the world of investing and hedge funds. I’ve studied and developed multiple machine learning models relating to social and economic trends, so making predictions in variable climates is a familiar concept to me. Additionally, my dad’s work in investment has inspired a personal interest that I would like to share with the rest of Hopkins through the Hopkins Hedge. I look forward to learning more about investing along with members of the club!
My name is Eli Ratner and I am a rising senior at the Hopkins School in New Haven, CT. I have always been interested in the STEM field, but have been searching for a way to combine my love for math and my appreciation for other fields. In the Hopkins Hedge, I am able to use my STEM knowledge in combination with my understanding of history and economics to help the organization grow. At Hopkins, I play 3 varsity sports and am the captain of the men’s lacrosse team, as well as being involved in the yearbook, school newspaper, and debate team. I believe that my combination of experiences and my desire to learn more will help me lead the Hopkins Hedge as one of the Club Heads next year.
